†  Welcome to Catholic Bible Study

Catholic Bible Study (CBS) is a group of lay evangelists who are dedicated to teaching the Word of God to Catholic and non-Catholic people alike.  CBS uses the commentaries and study program written by Father James O'Bryan S.T., entitled "Invitation to Christian Discipleship" (ICD).

Invitation to Christian Discipleship uses lectures, group discussion and home study as dynamics in truth seeking.

ICD is designed to be:

  • A more in depth study than a group Bible sharing program
  • Accommodates new students not ready for a lot of home study
  • Led by lay teachers who are dedicated to teaching the Word of God

Invitation to Christian Discipleship was written to fulfill two needs; the desire of the Catholic people for a deeper knowledge of the Scriptures and also, the desire for specific answers to in-depth Bible questions.

The motivating cause for the formation of the Catholic Bible Study is to preserve and impart the Christian Faith as understood and transmitted by the Catholic Church through the centuries.

These courses have four immediate aims:

  • To incite a true spirit of repentance.
  • To foster a deeper commitment in faith to Jesus Christ.
  • To create a greater awareness of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.
  • To encourage a more vibrant participation in the life and mission of the Catholic Church.
