A free single-day retreat for Veterans and adult family members of Veterans, or active duty military.
The Retreat will start 9:00am and end with an optional closing Mass at 5:00pm, at the Mission San Luis Rey Retreat Center in Oceanside.
The retreat is facilitated by Father Ed McKenzie, a Franciscan priest in residence at the Mission. Father Ed is a Vietnam combat veteran and father of two sons, one of whom is a combat veteran, as well. Veteran’s issues have always been close to his heart. Fr. Ed suffers the effects of PTSD and moral injury and speaks from a “firsthand” experience about this plague that veterans suffer. He describes himself, as a “Wounded Healer.”
