Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for Preschoolers
**Discover the Wonder of Faith with Your 4–5-Year-Old**
Children between the ages of 4 and 5 are naturally curious and open to learning about God's love. At this age, they can begin to understand that Jesus loves them personally and cares for them like a shepherd cares for his sheep.
A key part of their faith formation is learning about **Jesus, the Good Shepherd**. Children hear that Jesus knows each person by name, loves them, and guides them. This message helps them feel safe, valued, and loved by God.
Children also begin to learn about the **Mass and the Eucharist**. They become familiar with the objects used at the altar and the important actions they see during Mass, such as preparing the chalice, offering gifts, and sharing the sign of peace. These experiences help them understand that the Mass is a special gift from God.
Through stories about the **Last Supper**, Jesus’ death, and His Resurrection, children begin to learn about the life of Jesus and the great love He has for all of us.
Our goal is to help young children grow in their relationship with God through wonder, joy, and hands-on experiences that are meaningful to them.
